Hey-yo!
Thanks for stopping by. We probably initially met over on Instagram where we connected over a good fashion deal or dupe, a manic mom moment, or a struggle we both can relate to from our past or present.
I spent a good part of my blogging years being tired of seeing the same EXACT things pop-up in my feed. What is that, you might ask? Probably the same thing you are seeing. Designer bags that cost as much as my first car (a sweet 15-year-old, stick shift, pick-up truck) & picture-perfect photoshoots of “candid” perfection.
Here at Hello Jenna Wood, you won’t see any of that. Not because I’m radically against it but because that is just not me, my lifestyle, or my “hashtag-goals”. I hope you can see and feel moments of your own life here- your own closet, home, blessings, and trials.
Speaking of closets… you want to know what my closet looks like? My closet is simple & small and filled with 3 types of pieces.
1. QUALITY items that are classic & timeless. Things worth splurging a little on because I know they will be worn over and over again.
2. You will find FAST-FASHION pieces in my closet. Meaning, pieces that are on trend at the moment but we will probably be laughing at ourselves for wearing them in 5-10 years (anyone remember those outrageous J. Crew Bubble Necklaces circa 2012)? I try not to spend too much money on these pieces since they will probably not be in my closet for many years to come.
3. Seasonal Splurges. These are fun, less expensive items that you might need for the new season. I could never do a capsule wardrobe because of this category. There is something about being in Target with your kids in tow, screaming about something and then suddenly you find a cute pair of $20 summer shorts. Those shorts that you kinda need because they make the whole world just seem right. I know you can’t buy happiness but I call this purchase a mom-win. You know for making it through another Target run while getting glaring looks from the old woman in the bathroom or the 5 men you passed by reminding you that you sure have your hands full.
Aren’t we all just the “mom next door” trying to make it through another day of happy, sad, serious, silly and everything in between moments? So whether you have been here since the very beginning or you are new here, thank you for being apart of the Hello Jenna Wood community. When you are here I hope you always feel like yourself and know you are always welcome here- because in this community there is no need for change, we like you just the way you are!
xo,
Jenna
